couse overview
This class was designed by experienced teachers who put together essential musical knowledge to enhance instrument learning during lessons and facilitate smooth transition into more advanced music programs.
The class will consist of music theory, ear training, and history studies. During this introductory course, students will learn different types of scales, intervals, triads, 7th chords, and musical forms as well as characteristics of different musical periods. Students will also train to sing intervals, triads, 7th chords, and simple to complex rhythms.
course Objectives
It’s essential to learn the basic musical knowledge to further one’s understanding of music and reach an advanced level as a musician. This course is strongly encouraged for students who are planning to apply for pre-college programs, conservatories or music programs at universities as well as those who want to gain more knowledge and context for classical music and improve their overall musical skills.
improve sight-reading (quicker reading of notes and basic to complex rhythmic patterns)
broaden and expand essential musical knowledge
deepen understanding of harmony and musical structures
learn about styles and composers from different music periods
Course Tuition
$540 ($360 for Cremona students)
*Students may miss up to 4 classes as long as they attend makeup sessions.
*Students who complete the course will receive a certificate of achievement.
