Objective
To thoroughly prepare for the NYYS audition. This intensive is for violin, viola, and cello students who are planning to audition for NYYS program for the 2024-25 season.
workshop overview
Participants will go through fingerings and bowings in detail as well as establish practice tempos and goal tempos for each excerpt. Instructors will guide each student with a practice plan to master the required excerpts and build confidence through mock auditions.

Please print the excerpts or download the packet on your iPad and bring it to the workshop. And please bring any questions you may have.
Program Schedule
Day 1 (2hrs) - fingerings, bowings for each excerpt
Day 2 (2hrs) - establish practice plan: practice tempos and goal tempos for each excerpt, review techniques needed for each section
Day 3 (2hrs) - mock audition: perform the audition, receive comments, polish, repeat
